REPER launched the “Platform for Democracy, Prosperity and Progress”
The REPER, ACUM, DEMOS party and independent candidates, such as the former head of the Environmental Guard Octavian Berceanu, can be found in the “Platform for democracy, prosperity and progress”, launched on Tuesday by the party founded by Dacian Cioloș. They will run on the common REPER lists in the December 1 parliamentary elections.
The “Platform for democracy, prosperity and progress” was launched in the absence of Dacian Cioloș and is presented as “a cross-party initiative that coagulates several pro-European political forces”.
Among the candidates with whom REPER announced that it will enter the parliamentary elections are the co-presidents of the formation, Ramona Strugariu and Dragoș Pîslaru, who open the REPER lists in Cluj and Iaşi respectively, Cătălin Teniță, who opens the list for the Chamber of Deputies in Bucharest, Octavian Berceanu, who the scientist Cristian Presură, the university professor Ciprian Mihali, current parliamentarians, as well as several personalities from academia or civil society who will open the REPER lists in several counties of the country, open the list from Bucharest to the Senate.
“The government has abandoned its citizens, paralyzed the business environment, is throwing an entire country into chaos: we have more poverty and inequalities, we are feeding a cabal from public resources, we are irresponsibly in debt to the public, we are missing opportunities for growth, European money and development in every day. Marcel Ciolacu managed the most shameful rectification in his career as prime minister, he rectified the budget deficit from 5% to 7% in record time. And this happens for a very simple reason: people have never been the priority of this government. (…) I have not heard any candidate in the presidential elections or any political party that talks about investing in people and about defending the rights and freedoms of the citizens of this country in all their dimensions – from the right to education to economic freedoms, from equality of chances and non-discrimination until the exit from poverty and vulnerability or the right to choose, safely, for women”, said Ramona Strugariu, co-president of REPER.
