The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) welcomes the final agreement reached in the Iranian nuclear issue in Vienna in negotiations between the E3 + 3 states and Iran on the Common and Comprehensive Action Plan and the agreement between the International Atomic Energy Agency and Iran on ‘Roadmap to clarify unresolved issues from the past and present on the Iranian nuclear programme’.
“MAE considers that these agreements have historic significance, marking the beginning of a new cooperative relationship with Iran. MAE expresses its full appreciation for the consistent and substantial diplomatic efforts of the E3 + 3 states, and to the substantial involvement of the EU High Representative Federica Mogherini. However, MAE welcomes the flexibility and constructive spirit shown by Iran during the negotiations,” MAE informs in a release.

FM Aurescu: We are witnessing the beginning of a new stage

“I welcome the historic agreement on the Iranian nuclear file and I convey my sincere congratulations to all parties involved in the negotiation process. Today we are witnessing a new stage in the relationship between Iran and the international community. I believe that the final solution, comprehensive and lasting for the Iranian nuclear file would contribute significantly to improving safety at regional and international level,” said Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu.

Iran and its negotiating partners have finalized a hard-won agreement on the country’s nuclear program. Diplomats welcomed the “historic moment” as the group went in to its last meeting before presenting the deal.
Negotiations between Iran and six world powers – the US, UK, France, China, Russia and Germany – began in 2006. The so-called P5+1 want Iran to scale back its sensitive nuclear activities to ensure that it cannot build a nuclear weapon.
Iran, which wants crippling international sanctions lifted, has always insisted that its nuclear work is peaceful.
