Ruling party wants inquiry committee in Parliament on the energy price
The Social Democrat leaders have Okayed PM Mihai Tudose’s request to set up an inquiry committee in Parliament to investigate the latest prices on the energy market.
“We approved the prime minister’s request and tomorrow the plenary sitting of the Parliament will approve setting up an inquiry committee on the Regulatory Committee of the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), for it’s good to find out what happened there and what was the game of the energy price lately,” PSD chairman Liviu Dragnea said after the party’s National Standing Bureau.
In his turn, PM Tudose stated that some problems had been identified this summer, related to the ANRE’s legal obligations and to the lack of some procedures.
“As ANRE is not under the Government’s authority, the only body able to see what’s out there, to clear things up, is the Parliament. The Government has asked the Parliament an investigation in this respect,” said Tudose.
Early last month, the premier urged Energy minister Toma Petcu to ask the Parliament to start an investigation at ANRE after several public sales had been delayed, which led to the energy price rise.
