More than one hundred people have gathered Saturday morning in front of Sala Palatului (Pacace Hall) where the PSD congress was held, to chant slogans against the party led by Liviu Dragnea and against the Government. Following some incidents, the gendarmes have taken over three people, who were fined for disturbing the public order, the Gendarmerie has announced.

One person was fined RON 800 and the other ones RON 3,000 (approx. EUR 650) for preventing the gendarmerie forces to complete their task.

PSD Senator Claudiu Manda said on Saturday, referring to the protesters outside the Palace Hall, that people have the right to protest, nevertheless, he pointed to the recent example of Germany, where protesters were chased away with water jets.

“This happened in Germany, elections were held in a hall, according to the law. Outside, the people protesting were chased away with water jets. This is not a suggestion, it is Germany, a democratic country. People are free to protest, but within the legal framework,” Manda said at the Palace Hall.
