Sociopol opinion poll: PSD-35%, PNL-19%, Ciolos’ party-13%

An opinion poll conducted by Sociopol, coordinated by Mirel Palada, close to the ruling coalition, shows that, if general elections took place next Sunday, the ruling PSD would get 35%, PNL-19%, Romania Together Movement (the party set up by ex-PM Dacian Ciolos)- 13%, ALDE (PSD’s ruling partners)- 10% and USR- 8%.

On the confidence ranking, Raed Arafat, the head of the Department for Emergency Situations obtained the highest score, followed by President Klaus Iohannis, and Bucharest mayor Gabriela Firea.

The rest of the political parties would not get to the Parliament, being under the 5 pc threshold; 4% – UDMR, 3% – Pro România, 3% – PMP, 2% – PER, 1% – PRU 1%, 1% – PNŢ-CD 1% and 1% – Independents.

In terms of confidence of the Romanians for some public politicians,  Raed Arafat ranks first with 59%, President Klaus Iohannis comes second with 33%, and Bucharest mayor, Gabriela Firea third with 26%. Former anti-graft head Laura Codruţa Kovesi is credited with 25%, Mircea Diaconu – 23%, Dacian Cioloş – 22%, Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu – 20%, Corina Creţu – 20%, Mugur Isărescu – 19%, Liviu Dragnea – 15%, Victor Ponta -13%, Viorica Dăncilă – 13%, Traian Băsescu – 12% and Ludovic Orban – 8%.

Asked if Romania is heading to a good or bad direction, 73% of the respondents replied that the country is heading to a wrong direction, 14% said to a good direction and 13% gave no answers or said ‘I don’t know”.
