Tatiana Niculescu Bran resigns as presidency spokesperson

Tatiana Niculescu Bran has announced on Tuesday that she has resigned from the position of spokesperson for President Klaus Iohannis, noting that the decision was motivated by the fact that during December 2014 – April 2015, her collaboration with the press was not the one she wanted to be.
“Today, April 21, I’ve withdrawn from the position of spokesperson, in agreement with the President of Romania. My decision is motivated by the observation that during December 2014 – April 2015, my collaboration with the press was not the way I would have wanted to be. I will continue to support the country project of President Klaus Iohannis, regardless of my professional relationship with the Presidential Administration,” announced Tatiana Niculescu-Bran, in a statement posted on the website of the Presidential Administration.
Tatiana Niculescu Bran was appointed to the position of presidential adviser on December 22, 2014.
Niculescu Bran was editor with Radio BBC World Service, the Romanian Department in London during 1995-2004, later on, during 2004 and 2008 she led the BBC World Service office in Bucharest. Niculescu Bran published in 2006 the first non-fiction novel in Romanian literature, “Spovedanie la Tanacu – Confession at Tanacu”, followed in 2007 by “Cartea judecatorilor – Judges’ book”. The two novels became theatre plays. “Confession at Tanacu” premiered in New York in 2007, directed by Andrei Serban. The same volume also inspired the movie “Beyond the Hills” by Cristian Mungiu, double-awarded film at Cannes in 2012.
