The government wants to finalize in the next two weeks the set of rules by which the “Green Criterion” will be applied in all public tenders.

According to the prime minister Marcel Ciolacu, this will be one of the most important steps taken to support all companies that produce in the country.

“It is the most powerful tool to support Romanian companies, using a European principle: additional points for companies with the shortest transport route, which pollute the least. The closer you have the factory to the customer, the more advantageous you are! We want all Romanian companies, from the automotive industry, with Dacia and Ford, to construction materials and the agri-food industry to benefit from the application of this criterion,” said the prime minister.
