At the congress of the so-called deputies of all levels of Transnistria, which will take place on February 28, a request to Moscow regarding the accession of the separatist region to the Russian Federation would be adopted. The statement was made by the Transnistrian opponent Ghenadie Ciorba, quoted by INFOTAG, according to Deschide.md.

Ciorba warned over to the fact that the gathering will take place a day before Russian President Vladimir Putin’s address to the Federal Assembly. The Transnistrian opposition does not rule out that this directive to organize the congress was given from Moscow itself. Ciorba assumes that within the forum of the so-called deputies of all levels of Transnistria, a request would be launched from the inhabitants of the left of the Dniester to join the region to the Russian Federation, and the next day, on February 29, Putin will announce this to the Assembly Federal, which will make the decision to proceed with the request.

The opponent believes that the assembly in Tiraspol and the protest organized there recently against the so-called economic pressures of the Republic of Moldova are aimed at showing that the residents of Transnistria are against Chisinau.

“This is where the recent statement by the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, comes from, as if Moscow will not let its citizens in Transnistria suffer,” Ciorba also declared.

He urged the so-called deputies of the region not to allow this decision to be taken, which will give Putin “a legal pretext to strike the territory of the Republic of Moldova, including Transnistria, under any pretext.”

“Madam President Sandu, your entourage constantly scared you with the fact that Russia will attack the territory of the Republic of Moldova. But you did not take into account the fact that the psychology of the current leadership of Russia, especially Putin, is very similar to that of Hitler in the late 1930s. Attempts to reconcile individuals like Putin lead to only one thing, increasing the aggressor’s appetite”, concluded Ciorba.

On Monday, the leader of the separatists from Tiraspol, Vladimir Krasnoselski, announced the summoning of the so-called deputies of all levels in connection with the alleged economic pressures from Chisinau.

Transnistria is a is a separatist country in Eastern Europe, located between the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. It was officially formed in 1990, declaring its independence from Moldova. With the help of the Russian army, it defeated the Moldovan army in the War of Transnistria.

Russia still has a big influence on the territory. Between 1,500 and 2,000 Russian soldiers are reportedly stationed on the territory. In addition, there may be up to 10.000 paramilitary troops.

Moldova retorts

The Reintegration Office of the Government of the Republic of Moldova announces that it is carefully monitoring the situation in the Transnistrian region, after the warning that on February 28, Tiraspol could ask Moscow to join the separatist region to the Russian Federation. “Tiraspol is aware of the consequences it assumes in case of ill-considered steps”, transmit the Moldovan officials.

According to a press release, the Reintegration Policy Office claims that it is “carefully following the situation in the Transnistrian region, being in permanent contact with the OSCE Mission and other international partners.”

From the information we have, there are no grounds to believe that the situation in the region could deteriorate,” the quoted statement said. At the same time, the president of the Security, Defense and Public Order Commission, Lilian Carp, stated that “at the current stage there is no security risk for the Republic of Moldova, but things can evolve”.

“We have to watch, we don’t know anything that can be in their heads. They have made such attempts before. It is not the first time, they have held pseudo-referendums before and in such conditions, we must be very careful about the actions they take, the statements they make, which affect our security, and we must take the necessary measures to prevent escalation the situation,” said Lilian Carp, according to Radio Chisinau.

“We have to see how certain things will evolve and how we will act, the population will be informed. At the current stage, there is no security risk, but things can evolve from day to day,” added the president of the Security Commission.

The best thing the Romanians in Moldava can achieve now is to fastrack to Unify with Romania or slowtrack for Moldavian EU addmition. The wisest is for Unification and make a lasting peace with the Bear. If no political party has the balls… then referendum! Simplu.
