UDMR’s leader Kelemen Hunor: Iohannis to win a second term as president, only Ciolos can beat him

The chairman of the National Democratic Union of Magyars from Romania (UDMR), Kelemen Hunor believes that Klaus Iohannis will enter the runoffs of the presidential elections this year and will win a second mandate as President. The Magyar leader thinks that only former PM Dacian Ciolos can beat Iohannis in the presidential elections.

While attending the UDMR Representatives Council of Covasna territorial organisation, Kelemen Hunor stated that Klaus Iohannis will win a second presidential mandate provided that ex-PM Dacian Ciolos doesn’t run. UDMR leader thinks that Ciolos is the only one who can beat Iohannis in elections, yet saying in this case “we’d got a huge problem”.

Referring to the EP elections, Hunor anticipated the ballot might change the European Union over growing Euro-skepticism, maszol.ro reported.

He added that UDMR could not have a dialogue with the National Liberal Party, as the Liberals have challenged to the Constitutional Court any article in the law where there were such statements as “Magyar”, “language rights” or “using mother tongue”.
