Tens of thousands of Romanians joined their efforts and used their energy, talents and time to help their fellows, after the tragedy in the Colectiv club, and it is the very solidarity, civic spirit and wish to help the others that are the essence of the celebration of Thanksgiving, U.S. Ambassador to Romania Hans Klemm said on Thursday.
“Dear Romanian friends, today in the United States we celebrate Thanksgiving Day. On this occasion we, Americans, meet with the family and friends and express gratitude for the good things in our lives. We also try to think of our communities and, in particular, of those in need. After the recent tragedy in the Colectiv club, tens of thousands of Romanians joined their efforts and used their energy, talents and time to help their fellows. By your actions at the beginning of November, you have inspired me and many other members of the international community. And it is the very solidarity, civic spirit and wish to help the others that are the essence of the celebration of Thanksgiving,” Klemm said in a message posted on the Facebook page of the United States Embassy in Bucharest.
The U.S. diplomat confessed he feels at home in Romania, on Thanksgiving Day.
“Although this year, on Thanksgiving Day, I am in Romania, not in the United States, I feel at home. Me and my wife, Mari, wish you and your dear ones a Thanksgiving Day full of joy and health,” Klemm said.
