USR Deputy Oana Bîzgan set to become independent MP, will further cooperate with the party
USR Deputy Oana Bîzgan has announced on Monday that she has decided to continue her mandate in Parliament as an independent MP, but she will continue to cooperate with the party.
“Today I made the decision to continue as independent deputy. I will continue to cooperate with USR. I have not negotiated, I do not negotiate and will not negotiate with any party and I remain faithful to USR’s founding principles. This decision to become independent is a personal decision and I think it is the most efficient way to contribute to a better Romania. I am not thinking about a new project at the moment, but about all the projects I have started on equal opportunities and women’s rights in Romania, which I want to complete,” Bîzgan said, cotidianul.ro informs.
Oana Bîzgan is in the first mandate of MP. She has worked as Chairman of the Committee for Equal Opportunities for Women and Men, being also a member of the Committee on Economic Policy, Reform and Privatisation.
USR member Manuel Costescu resigned from the party in March. Also, Nicusor Dan, the former leader of the party, resigned, but he is affiliated to the USR parliamentary group.
