Vanghelie says Ponta and Coldea met in Turkey to set a new plan
Former District 5 Mayor, Marian Vanghelie, claims that former Prime Minister Victor Ponta met Florian Coldea (former deputy head of the Romanian Intelligence Service – SRI) and that Coldea and Gabriel Oprea (former deputy-PM, Interior Minister) are behind the latest developments involving the ex-Premier.
“Victor Ponta, this phenomenon, has returned to politics after sitting at the table with Maior (former SRI chief – George Maior) and Coldea, after he put people in jail? What is his job in politics, to bring back Oprea and Maior?” Vanghelie said on Friday for Antena 3 TV private broadcaster.
The former mayor said that Ponta is allegedly supported by Coldea and Oprea and that the former PM recently had a meeting with the ex-SRI deputy head in Turkey.
“Three months ago, Victor Ponta had a meeting with Florian Coldea in Turkey and agreed on the plan. Oprea is also supporting Ponta,” Vanghelie said.
The statements come in the context in which Victor Ponta and Daniel Constantin have launched the Pro Romania party, which has attracted, on the past week, several PSD MPs. Ponta has announced that a request has been filed to set up a parliamentary group and said other MPs would join the new party soon.
