Visits paid to Asian and Arab countries, to Mexico by former PM Ponta – expenditures of RON 1.7m

The Victor Ponta government has spent about RON 3 million (approx. EUR 670,000) for visits paid during his tenure in Asian countries, in Arab countries and Mexico.
According to official information released by Realitatea TV, the expenditures for the Asian tour in 2013 (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, China) amounted to RON 1,749,230 (approx. EUR 388,000), the largest amount being spent on renting and use of the official aircraft.
For the visits in 2015 to Arab countries (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates) Ponta government has spent RON 930,233 (approx. EUR 207,000). The biggest amount was spent also for the rental and use of the official aircraft.
The visit in Mexico, at this year’s global summit for open governance, involved expenditures of RON 174,125 (approx. EUR 38,700).
