What was the most expensive gift that President Iohannis received in 2017?

President Klaus Iohannis has received 41 items as protocol gifts in 2017, including a painting by Givi Kolelishvili, a Tiffany&Co transparent glass decanter, as well as a customized bayonet from the Special Forces. The total value of the gifts received by the head of state last year is EUR 2,752.

The most expensive present was the painting by Givi Kolelishvili, representing a winter landscape, which is estimated at EUR 500.

The items received by Iohannis on the occasion of protocol events have remained in the patrimony of the Presidential Administration.

The Tiffany&Co wine decanter is worth EUR 250, the customized bayonet is estimated at EUR 200. President Iohannis also received a customized protection helmet for firefighting activities in emergency situations, worth EUR 150, a pair of golden hand made cufflinks, from the “Gold Jewellery of the Island of Pag” collection, worth EUR 150, a silver urn worth EUR 100, a painting depicting two elephants, worth EUR 100, a customized stainless steel plate with the logo of the US Department of Statem worth EUR 30, a writing set consisting of a fountain pen, an ink bottle and blotting paper, worth EUR 100, two volumes of “The Luther Bible-1534” (EUR 50), a decorative sword (EUR 80) and a Poenari hand made fountain pen, lined in gold, a Baron Business model (EUR 80).

The presents’ list also includes a Huawei P10 Lite telephone, worth EUR 180, received by the presidential aide Bogdan Aurescu, which remained in the Presidency’ patrimony.
