Wild animals will no longer be used in circus shows
Wild animals can no longer be used in circus shows, caravans, and by ambulatory artists.
A legislative proposal in this regard was adopted on Tuesday by the Chamber of Deputies, the deciding parliament chamber.
Within 18 months from the entry into force of the law, the public and private institutions holding such animals will have to send them to zoos or reservations.
Exceptions to the law are: horses, dogs, some exotic bird species and animals used in dolphinariums and aquariums.
