President-elect vows to get involved in reading national campaign

Iohannis’ book reaches 100,000 copies.

Romania’s President-elect Klaus Iohannis announced on his Facebook page that he would actively get involved in a national campaign promoting the reading, also informing that his “Step by step” autobiography reached 100,000 copies.

“I am glad to inform you that my “Step by step” book has already reached 100,000 copies. The e-book also established a record. It is another example that everything is possible, especially on book market that is very limited compared to other European markets. That’s why I can assure you it is only the beginning, and starting next year I will actively get involved in a national campaign of reading stimulation”, Klaus Iohannis posted.

He also pledged he would be a president very attached to this field, arguing this will happen not only because he used to be the mayor of Sibiu, European Cultural Capital in 2007, but because he “is a glutton for reading” and “a great culture admirer”.
