President Iohannis to attend the International Security Conference in Munich

President Klaus Iohannis will attend as guest of honour the 55th edition of the International Security Conference in Munich, Germany on Saturday. The Romanian head of state will open the debates as the high representative of the state that is holding the Presidency of the EU Council.

Romania’s President will open the debates, as high representative of the state that is holding the Presidency of the European Union Council, next to Germany’s Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and to Egypt’s President, Abdel Fattah Elsisi, as high representative of the state that is currently holding the African Union Presidency”, says a Presidency press release.

The agenda of the current edition of the conference includes such topics as the management of the security challenges, the transatlantic relation, NATO priorities, the future of the European project and the EU-NATO cooperation.
