Presidential Administration points to the Gov’t for the lack of the state budget for 2019

The Presidency says the statements made by Minister for Business Environment, Trade and Entrepreneurship, Stefan Radu Oprea, regarding the delay of the daft state budget for 2019 as being caused by the lack of a positive opinion from the Supreme Defence Council (CSAT), are false and represent an attempt to discredit CSAT.

“The statements that the draft state budget for 2019 has been delayed due to the lack of a positive opinion from the CSAT are false and represent an attempt to discredit a fundamental state institution, with constitutional responsibilities in the field of defence and national security. Romania lacks the state budget for this year exclusively due to the Government’s incapacity to draw up to this day a sustainable draft budget,” the Presidency informs on Wednesday in a release.

According to the source, the CSAT sitting on December 19, 2018 has advised the proposal for the 2019 budget for the institutions having attributions in the field of national security and the information was made public at the end of the sitting.
