Prince Charles met President Iohannis, PM Dancila in Bucharest

President Klaus Iohannis welcomed Prince Charles at the Cotroceni Palace, on Wednesday, talking such topics as the bilateral strategic partnership and economic ties. The Romanian President praised the involvement of the Prince of Wales in charitable activities in Romania and thanked him for his actions to promote Romanian traditions and beauties.

“President Klaus Iohannis evoked the excellent official visit paid by his Royal Highness Prince Charles of Wales last year and praised, once again, the dedication and involvement of his Royal Highness in charitable activities in Romania and in promoting the natural beauties, authentic traditions and the biodiversity of the Romanian countryside,” says a press release by the Presidency.

At the same time, the Romanian president “hailed the visit of the Prince of Wales at the Romanian Cultural Institute in London,  to see the exhibition that celebrates the uniqueness and the extraordinary diversity of the Romanian natural heritage,” a project carried out in collaboration with the Prince of Wales Foundation.

Both President Iohannis and the Prince of Wales reiterated the very good level of the strategic partnership between the two countries, based on the enhanced cooperation in the economic and security fields. The head of state highlighted the concrete contribution of the British armed forces to ensuring the regional security, adding that the Romanians living and working in the UK represent a bond for the bilateral ties.

Dancila: Protecting the rights of Romanians in UK is a priority for the Government

PM Dancila has also met Prince of Wales at Victoria Palace, with the Romanian premier stating that protecting the rights and the interests of the Romanian citizens who live in UK represent a priority for the Government.

According to a press release by the Government, the discussions also tackled the integrated rural development, the balance between tradition and modernity, as well as HRH activity in Romania, promoting the Romanian traditions for 20 years.

Dancila voiced gratitude for the contribution of Prince of Wales in promoting the cultural patrimony, the rural areas in Romania.
