Protest announced at DNA HQ over Kovesi’s revocation

A protest was announced for Monday at 12:00hrs in front of the National Anti-corruption Directorate’s headquarters following the Presidency’s announcement on anti-corruption head’s revocation.

The DNA chief prosecutor Laura Codruta Kovesi is to deliver press statements at the same hour.

Laura Codruta Kovesi has been just revoked from the position of DNA chief prosecutor. We are going in front of the DNA at 12:00hrs to show our support for Kovesi, for the institution and for the anti-corruption fight. The anti-corruption fight must go on. Then, we are going to Victoriei Square!,” reads the Facebook page of the event „Twelve o’clock- ALL, in front DNA! Then we head  to Victoriei Square!”.

Presidency spokesperson, Mădălina Dobrovolschi, has announced Monday morning, at Cotroceni Palace, in a press statement, that President Klaus Iohannis has signed the decree to revoke the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) chief prosecutor Laura Codruţa Kovesi in line with the Constitutional Court decision.

„The President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Iohannis, considers that Romania cannot make steps back from the statute of country governed by the rule of law, in which the supremacy of the Constitution is observed,” the President spokeswoman stated.
