PSD requests clarification on how data is collected for drafting the CVM reports

The Social-Democratic Party argues clarification is needed on the ways to collect data for drafting the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM) and requests the European Commission rigour in connection to the concerns expressed by the magistrates’ associations in Romania regarding erroneous statements in the reports.

“Considering the accuracy to which the European Commission representation in Romania refers, in regard to the official positions expressed by the EC on our country, we expect the same rigour in regard to the concerns expressed by the magistrates’ associations in Romania regarding the ‘erroneous, unreal statements’ repeatedly published by the CVM reports. Thus, rigorous clarification on the ways the data for the CVM is collected is needed, which allegedly have allowed errors and inaccuracies, partial statements, as the magistrates’ associations say, which could only bring disadvantages  to justice independence,” the PSD posted on Facebook.
