PSD’s Dragnea threatens President Iohannis with document charging him with high treason

Chairman of the ruling Social Democrat Party (PSD), Liviu Dragnea has told Antena 3 on Sunday evening that the document to charge President Klaus Iohannis of high treason is concluded, yet adding that PSD and ALDE have taken no decision in this respect.

Dragnea said that some of „his colleagues” have worked on this document and that it is ready, but no decision has been taken about using it.

According to the Social Democrat leader, there are several elements for which Klaus Iohannis can be accused of high treason.

„There are many actions done by Iohannis that can take the shape of treason, I wouldn’t like to get there, but it is not impossible. There actions that did disservices to Romania,” Dragnea stated.

The Romanian Constitution says that the joint plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate can vote to charge Romania’s President with high treason by the vote at at least two thirds of the deputies and senators. The proposal to charge him can be initiated by the majority of the lawmakers of the Romanian Parliament and is immediately communicated to the President in order for him to be able to give explanations about the charges. The High Court of Cassation and Justice is authorized to rule in this case, to decide if the President can been sentenced for high treason.

Dragnea: Iohannis has yelled at PM Dancila over the budgetary rectification

PSD leader Dragnea also opined that president Iohannis „has reached his peak of ridicule” when he notified the Constitutional Court on a premier-president conflict after PM Dancila had delegated her duties during vacation, also claiming that Iohannis has yelled at the prime minister due to the budgetary rectification that had cut funds for the Presidential Administration.

First of all, Iohannis embarrassed himself, was ridiculous with the notification at CCR with the premier’s vacation,” Dragnea said.

The PSD chair recounted that he had talked to PM Dancila on Friday and she told him she would call the president, ‘although she didn’t have to’, to tell him she was delegating her duties to manage the Government’s current affairs, and not the duties as premier, the same way previous premiers did, such as Victor Ponta,  Sorin Grindeanu or Mihai Tudose.

„Some intelligence guys from the Government or anyone else informed Iohannis that Mrs. Prime minister had named an interim premier. Mrs. Prime minister told me that the main anger was actually the budgetary rectification and he had yelled at her on the phone over this several times. It’s nothing new. He did the same with the visit to Israel,” Dragnea stated.

Dragnea said the Presidential Administration had got RON 57 million for 2018, spent RON 22 M in the first semester and that it has got RON 46 M overall for the while year after the rectification and there is however back-ups at the Government if an urgent visit comes up.

Following the President’s logics, anytime he went to Miami, he should have discussed with me or with the Senate Speaker, Mr. Tariceanu to replace him (…) First of all, he is upset he cannot be what he thought he would be: the king of this country, the dictator (….),” the PSD chairman said, adding that Klaus Iohannis is agitated because „he sees that another great candidate for the presidential elections, Ciolos, is moving forward and the only party possible left to endorse him is PNL, but internal turmoil is high there as well.

“Iohannis-M…E”, Dragnea writes on blackboard live on TV

After the “M…E PSD” car plates scandal, SocDem chairman Liviu Dragnea has presented the measures taken by the Government to increase wages and pensions, writing on the blackboard in the TV studio “Iohannis M…E”, subsequently explaining he wanted to express that the President is lying (minte).

Iohannis M…E -What have you thought of, I don’t think you thought of what he did. I showed that Mr. Iohannis is lying. He is a sort of Pinocchio,” Dragnea said when asked what he meant by “Iohannis M…E”.

Răzvan Ştefănescu, a Romanian who  registered his car  in Sweden with preferential plates M…PSD (blow… to PSD), had his  driving license suspended and the license plates taken by the Police in Romania two weeks ago, although the Swedish Embassy said they are valid in all EU countries. The driver accused the abuses. Eventually, the Police closed down his case.
