The ‘Coalition for Family’, the organization which initiated the movement for redefining the family by referendum, blames the Social-Democratic Party (PSD) and all political leaders for the referendum’s failure, the level of absenteeism being unprecedented after 1990.
“We notice the evidence of the fact that we are facing a generalized boycott from all political parties which voted in Parliament the bill in reviewing the Constitution. For all those who falsely claimed, by a disinformation campaign, that this referendum belongs to PSD and to his leader, Liviu Dragnea, it is now obvious that PSD has boycotted the referendum countrywide,” a release issued on Sunday by the organization reads.
The coalition also blames the unprofessional organization of the referendum and the “disinformation campaign conducted by the electoral body, through political, administrative and media means, under the influence of political parties.”
“We make a last appeal to cease the political boycott countrywide, as it is aimed first of all against the Christians in Romania,” the organization said.
