Retail turnover volume registered an increase of 6.4 pc in January-March

The retail turnover volume (excluding the trade with motor vehicles and motorcycles), gross series, registered an increase of 6.4 percent in January-March period, as against the same period of 2017, due to the increases registered by the sale of food, beverages and tobacco (+9.5 percent) and by the sale of non-food products (+7.3 percent), National Institute of Statistics (INS) reveals. The retail of automotive fuel in specialised stores decreased by 0.5 percent.

Compared to the previous month, in March 2018 the retail turnover volume (excluding the trade with motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased both as gross series by 15.5 percent and as adjusted series according to the number of working days and to seasonality by 0.6 percent.

As against March 2017, in March 2018 the retail turnover volume (excluding the trade with motor vehicles and motorcycles), gross series, registered an increase of 3.4 percent due to the increases registered by the sale of food, beverages and tobacco (+11.9 percent) and by the sale of non-food products (+1.7 percent). The retail of automotive fuel in specialised stores decreased by 7.1 percent.
