Organized crime prosecutors on Wednesday conducted searches at Romania TV (RTV) headquarters in a child pornography case. The main suspect, 49-year-old Emanoil Petrea, employee of the above-mentioned TV station, has been detained for 24 hours.
The man is a former SPP officer (Romania’s Protection and Guard Service). Before taking him on remand, the prosecutors had conducted several searches at the defendant’s place in Bucharest, at his current work place, which is Romania TV according cu judicial sources, and at his villa in Vaslui county. Investigators seized phones, tablets, hard disks, video cameras.
“There are suspicions that during 2013-2015, the defendant Petrea Emanoil produced, held and stored pornographic footages presenting minor girls aged from 13 to 16 on phones, tablets, hard disks. Investigations revealed pornographic footages with minor girls who had sexual contacts with the defendant and with other men or had an explicit sexual behavior,” reads a press release by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT).
The Tribunal in Vaslui is to decide if the man is placed under preventive arrest for 30 days.
