Sequences of “Dragonheart 4” to be shot at Corvin Castle in Hunedoara

The new production of Universal Studios Hollywood, “Dragonheart 4” will shot several sequences at the Corvin Castle in Hunedoara in mid-April.

According to the castle’s manager, the shootings will take place mainly in the castle’s courtyard, where the replica of a medieval village will be set up, but also within the castle. The shootings will end on May 5-6, with an Easter recess.

So, these days, the film’s producers are looking for 500 extras, of all ages, men and women, who will stage on the castle’s setting. The extras will receive RON 50 per day and a meal will be also provided.

The castle’s director couldn’t say how many actors will come to Hunedoara, but revealed that the produces is Raffaella De Laurentiis, the daughter of Hollywood producer Dino De Laurentiis, Agerpres reported.

The shooting will not affect the castle’s visiting hours; moreover, tourists will have the opportunity to see how is a day of shootings.

“Dragonheart 4” is the first great film production being shot at Corvin Castle this year.


The “Dragonheart” series started in 1996, capturing the relationship between a brave fighter and the last dragon in a story full of adventure, romance, humour and special effects. Dennis Quaid, David Thewlis and Dina Meyer played the leading parts, while Sean Connery borrowed his voice to the movie’s star, the Draco dragon.

The film continued in 2000 with “Dragonheart: A New Beginning” and in 2015 with “Dragonheart: The Sorcerer’s Curse” when the voice of the dragon belongs to Ben Kingsley.
