NEPI Rockcastle, one of the largest real estate investors in Central and Eastern Europe, officially announced on Monday the start of construction works for the 18th commercial center in the Romanian portfolio.
According to a press release, Shopping City Satu Mare is an investment of EUR 40 million and is scheduled for inauguration this year-end.
The new mall will have a leasable area of 29,000 square meters, disposed on two levels, NEPI Rockcastle officials inform.
”Satu Mare was the natural choice to continue the expansion strategy that NEPI Rockcastle has in Romania, the city needing a modern destination for shopping and leisure,” Sebastian Mahu, Head of Asset Management, NEPI Rockcastle said.
Of the 90 brands to be opened, some will be present for the first time in the region, and the shopping center will cover several segments of interest: fashion, beauty, sports, technology, home & deco, multiplex, toys and baby products, services, restaurants and cafes.
For NEPI Rockcastle, Shopping City Satu Mare will also mark a series of innovations such as connecting the outdoor terrace through a walkway over the Somes River, the promenade area and the Old City Center.
