Transfagarasan high road might be closed again after a rock of about 1,000 tons had fallen down at km 126. However, the rock stopped on the edge of the road, without affecting it.

The National Highway Authority informed that up this rock there are another two smaller ones, which if broken, they might affect the road and the safety of the traffic participants.

If the fall risk rises, the authority will propose to close down the traffic. Meanwhile, temporary restriction signs have been installed in the area.

Transfagarasan high road was opened last Friday. Traffic on Transfagarasan has been closed down between Piscu Negru and Balea Cascada Chalet since November last year.
