16 –year-old girl killed in Copou Park, Iasi

A sixteen-year-old girl was found dead in Copou Park, Iasi (eastern Romania). Investigators established she has been strangled to death. The main suspect is a teenager boy.

“The victim is a 16-year-old girl from Iasi, and first investigations show that she was strangled to death. We have a minor suspect, who has been identified on Saturday night. He is also from Iasi, but we cannot give further details,” first prosecutor within Iasi Prosecutor’s Office explained.

The girl’s body was found by the passers-by who called emergency telephone number 112.

Paramedics tried to resuscitate the girl for an hour, but unfortunately she could not be saved.
