17 gunshots fired to stop 16yo high driver in Bucharest. Policeman slightly injured

Traffic policemen have been chasing a speeding car almost one hour and a half in Bucharest last night, also firing 17 gunshots to stop the 16-year-old driver, who also tested positive on drugs. Moreover, a police officer was slightly injured while intending to stop the car.

The teenager was taken into custody and presented at the Prosecutor’s Office.

Around 1 o’clock in the morning, police officers summoned the driver of a luxury car with foreign number plates to stop the car which was speeding up on Calea Moșilor, District 2.

The driver came near the traffic police officers, turned back and ran. Policemen started to go after him on Calea Văcărescu, Pantelimon then Soseaua Petricani.

Police officers had to fire 17 gunshots, with 11 of them at the car. In the end, a traffic jam on Soseaua Colentina made the driver stop the car and get out.

Policemen established he had only 16 years old and that he failed to pass the anti-drug test. Prosecutors want him arrested for driving without having a driving license.

Following the incident, a policeman was slightly injured by the fugitive driver’s car. He suffered a fracture and a contusion at his feet.
