The National Meteorology Administration (ANM) has issued a new warning for bad weather on Tuesday, in force until Wednesday evening. 32 counties in Oltenia, Muntenia, Moldavia and Transylvania are under Code Yellow warning on Tuesday for torrential rain and storms, until 23.00h.
Heavy rainfalls, electric discharges, storms and hailstorms are expected, with water quantities exceeding 15-25 litres per square metre and 35-40 l/sqm on isolated areas.
The Code Yellow concerns the following counties: Maramureş, Bistriţa-Năsăud, Harghita, Mureş, Braşov, Sibiu, Alba, Cluj, Bihor, Arad, Timiş, Caraş Severin, Hunedoara, Covasna, Prahova, Dâmboviţa, Argeş, Buzău, Vâlcea, Dolj, Mehedinţi, Gorj, Teleorman, Olt, Suceava, Neamţ, Botoşani, Iaşi, Bacău, Vrancea, Călăraşi and Giurgiu.
12 counties affected on Monday, rooftops thrown down, trees put to the ground
Firefighters have intervened in 14 localities in 12 counties, following the torrential rain Monday evening and have evacuated water from 150 households and 30 basements. Strong wind threw down three rooftops and 6 trees were put to the ground, falling on several automobiles.
The affected counties were Arad, Argeş, Bacău, Bihor, Buzău, Dâmboviţa, Hunedoara, Ilfov, Neamţ, Olt, Teleorman and Vâlcea.
No victims are registered, despite the fact that during the night of Monday to Tuesday more than 50 hydrologic and meteorological warnings were issued.
Arad County was for one hour under Code Red for hailstorm, torrential rain and storm, with the villages of Dezna and Buhani affected by floods. 7 individuals have been preventively evacuated.
