46pc of Romanians say monarchy is better than the republic. Prince Charles tops preferences
46% of Romanians believe monarchy is a better organisational form than the republic, whereas 37% would want a referendum held in order to return to monarchy, an Avangarde survey, conducted during December 26-January 7, reveals, according to stiri.tvr.ro.
Crown Custodian, Her Majesty Margareta and former Prince Nicholas are even in the Romanians’ preferences (41%).
First in Romanians’ preferences is Prince Charles, Prince of Wales with 54% of the opinions.
The survey further reveals that 40% of Romanians would favour a referendum in order to return to monarchy.
46% of interviewees believe monarchy was positive, while 40% believe the contrary, the rest do not respond.
The Avangarde survey was conducted by phone, on a probabilistic sample of 710 people, with a maximum error margin of plus/minus 3.8%.
