Advanced negotiations on Romanian-US crime prevention agreement

The negotiations on the US-Romanian agreement on crime prevention and fight are well advanced and will represent an extra standard in the view of visa waiving program, Romanian Interior Ministry informs.

The agreement stage was tackled in a meeting between Interior minister Gabriel Oprea and US Charge d’Affaires Dean Thompson.

“At the meeting, the two officials discussed a bilateral agreement on the prevention and combat against serious crime, on which negotiations are at an advanced stage. By signing the agreement, Romania will meet another technical standard in order to be included in the Visa Waiver program,”  reads an Interior ministry press release.
