Justice Minister, Tudorel Toader, is to make a decision for the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) chief prosecutor position and says he will announce the chosen candidate on Thursday.
“The interviews for the DNA chief prosecutor office have been completed! On Thursday, at 13.00h, we will announce our proposal for this position on the Justice Ministry’s website, as well as the management programmes,” Tudorel Toader wrote on his Facebook page.
The six candidates were interviewed on Monday and Tuesday, 3 candidates on each day.
The six candidates are: Paula Nicoleta Tanase, Nicolae Lupulescu, Gabriela Scutea, Andrei Bodean, Adina Florea and Sorin Armeanu.
According to the procedures, the proposal of the Justice Minister will be submitted to the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) for an opinion. The CSM opinion is consultative. Then the proposal will reach the Presidency for appointment. By the law, the President can turn down the candidate for DNA top office only once.
