American tourist gone missing in Bucegi while paragliding, found dead
Mountain rescuers are searching an American tourist who is gone missing in Bucegi Mountains while paragliding next to two other people on Wednesday.
Later on in the afternoon, the rescuers announced the tourist had been tracked down, and called the helicopter to fly over the area in order to recover the tourist. The tourist was spotted hanging on the cliffs, right the Caraiman Cross, wrapped in the paraglider.
Unfortunately, the 40-year-old man was dead.
The three foreign tourists have been paragliding from the Caraiman Peak. Two of them managed to reach the land, while the tourist from U.S. has been gone missing.
Seven gendarmes from Prahova county joined the mountain rescuers in their search, while a helicopter has been also requested to fly over, as the covering search area is quite extensive.
