ANM issues warnings of bad weather – strong winds, snowfall, blizzards. Lower temperatures in Bucharest

The National Meteorology Administration (ANM) has issued on Tuesday a weather warning of bad weather – strong wind, snowfall and blizzards.

For the interval October 23, 22.00h – October 24, 22.00h a Code Yellow has been issued, mainly for the mountainous areas at altitudes of over 1,500 metres, for snowfall and strong wind reaching speeds of 70-80 km/h, with blizzards and low visibility. The wind could reach 90 km/h at altitudes above 1,800 metres.

The phenomena will take place in Eastern Carpathians, then in the Southern Carpathians and the Curvature Carpathians.

During October 24, 12.00h-19.00h, a Code Orange is issued for the counties of Caraș-Severin, Mehedinți, Dolj, Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu for strong winds of 80-90 km/h.

Cold weather in Bucharest

The wind will gradually intensify on Tuesday to reach about 45 km/h Wednesday morning, cloudy skies, lows of 8-9 degrees Celsius.

On Wednesday the weather will be windy, with gusts of 50-60 km/h and in the afternoon up to 60-70 km/h. Weak rainfall in the second part of the day.

Temperatures will fall against the previous interval to highs of 17C and lows of 2-5C.

On Thursday the wind will also intensify up to 40-50 km/h, highest temperatures of 13 degrees C.
