The chief of the General Aviation Inspectorate with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Dorel Gradinaru has been replaced on Tuesday, ministry sources told Mediafax. The move comes following the helicopter crash in Siutghiol Lake. Gradinaru has been leading the Aviation Inspectorate since May 2008. Previously he had been working at DIICOT, as anti-terrorism specialist.
This is the third replacement after the Siutghiol tragedy, where all four persons aboard a SMURD helicopter lost their lives. Constanta prefect Radu Volcinschi and Viorel Jianu, chief of the Emergency Situations Inspectorate in Constanta have also been removed.
Intervention procedures to be revised
Interior minister Gabriel Oprea told a videoconference on Tuesday that all emergency intervention procedures would be revised to provide maximum efficiency of the system. “Each county has analyzed the risks’ categories and the existent funds for emergency interventions. We shall use all these to draft a single interventions plan within the incorporated emergency situations system,” Oprea said.
He presented his condolences once again to the mournful families after Siutghiol crash, saying the prosecutors’ investigation will clear up the circumstances of the tragic incident.
Later on Tuesday, the Government approved an emergency ordinance amending the current the emergency interventions system.
