Aviation incident in Timisoara: Cargo plane, piloted by Belarusian crew, hits two lighting poles

A cargo plane, piloted by a Belarusian crew of, hit Monday night, with one wing, two lighting poles are at the Timisoara Airport, the pilot and co-pilot being tested for alcohol drinking. The test was negative.
The Director of the ‘Traian Vuia’ International Airport in Timisoara, Dan Idolu, said that the plane was an Antonov An-26, which was to be loaded with freight.
“During the running procedures on the ramp for aircraft, the plane hit with the right wing two poles on the adjacent platform. The plane was slightly damaged. The aircraft arrived to pick up cargo. The pilot and the co-pilot were tested for alcohol and had no problems,” Idolu said.
According to the director of Timisoara Airport, air traffic was not affected.
On Tuesday, a technical team from the company that owns the cargo plane will arrive in Timisoara to put the aircraft back into service. Also, the incident will be investigated by the Centre for Aviation in Bucharest.
