Bear Spotted on Popular Trail in Ciucaș Mountains

A bear was seen on Monday morning in the Bratocea mountain pass, in the northern area of Prahova county, in a place heavily frequented by people, which is the starting point for Ciucaş Peak on one of the most popular trails in the Ciucaş Mountains.
“Careful! The presence of a bear was reported in the Bratocea pass, the starting point of a very frequented route, towards the Ciucaş peak. The bear is attracted by the garbage left in its path and is not afraid of humans”, the mountain rescuers from Cheia, Prahova county, reported on Monday.
Mountain rescuers also have some recommendations for tourists in the area: “If you meet him, don’t feed him, don’t try to get close for photos and don’t throw objects to drive him away.”
People who notice the presence of the animal are advised to report this to the authorities and to take into account the fact that it is a wild animal that can be dangerous.
