The General Council of the Bucharest City Hall has approved on Thursday the takeover of RATB Pipera motor depot in order to build the Metropolitan Hospital, with 48 votes in favour, one vote against and one abstention.
“By this vote, the counsellors have proved they can act decisively in favour of Bucharesters, by ignoring the political conflicts. We will focus on optimizing the cost to complete this objective and to identify the plots of land for building medical units in Districts 3 and 6,” Mayor General Gabriela Firea said, according to ziare.com.
The General Council sitting on Thursday has also approved the PNL proposal to build two new hospitals in Districts 3 and 6.
After the approval, PNL released a communiqué reading that “one the greatest steps in the past 28 years have been made to provide medical services to Bucharesters. Today, the projects for three new hospitals in Bucharest have started: one in the northern part, one in District 3 and one in District 6. This was possible due to the actions of the PNL counsellors. It is a true victory for Bucharesters!”
