The stolen weapon from the woman gendarme during the August 10 rally in Victoriei Square, during the Diaspora protest, has been recovered, the Bucharest Police announce. The pistol was recovered in Petrechioaia area in Ilfov County.
The information has been confirmed by the Prosecutor General’s Office.
“Following the criminal investigation conducted by the Prosecutor’s Office upon the Bucharest Court prosecutors, together with the Bucharest Police General Directorate, the pistol stolen during the violent events on August 10, during the rally in Victoriei Sauqre, has been recovered,” the Prosecutor’s Office upon the High Court of Cassation and Justice informs.
The woman gendarme who was beaten by several instigators during the Diaspora rally on August 10 was discharged from hospital last Tuesday, as medical tests that she underwent on Monday showed no major issues had been identified.
The woman gendarme and one of her colleagues were beaten by several protesters, while others were trying to protect them. They both were hospitalized, as they complain of headaches.
During violence against her, someone stole her weapon.
Policemen have tracked down the man who is suspected of stealing the weapon, while prosecutors have placed him under remand, being heard last week. The 32-year-old man is charged with stealing a weapon and with disturbing the public order.
