Bucharest ranks 69th in 71 cities on lowest prices

Zurich, Geneva, and New York City have the highest prices, over 2.5 times higher than those in Bucharest, Sofia, and Kiev, with the lowest, reads an UBS CIO WM extensive study on prices and earnings covering 71 cities. The price level rankings reveal the relative cost of goods and services worldwide, excluding the rents.
Istanbul, Doha, and Lyon are middle-ranking cities; prices there are somewhat closer to those of high-ranking cities than to those of lower ranked ones.
So, Bucharest ranked 69th in 71 with the lowest prices, being outranked only by Sofia and Kiev. Romania’s Capital got 43.8 points on price level excluding rent, and 34.9 including rent.
Bucharest ranks 60th, after Bangkok and ahead Sofia on purchasing power. If one takes net hourly pay as the benchmark, earners in Luxembourg have the highest purchasing power.
Bucharest ranks 61st on gross wages, flanked by Budapest and Beijing. Zurich, Geneva, Luxembourg and NY city rank first, while Kiev and Jakarta come last with the lowest net salaries.
