Bucharest Storm Disrupts Air Traffic: Delays in Departures and Landings
Several planes had a longer route to the “Henri Coandă” airport, due to the storm that affected the Romanian Capital on Tuesday, which is why most of the departures from Bucharest this evening are delayed, reports BoardingPass, a website specialized in aviation news.
“Due to the unfavorable weather conditions in the Bucharest area and in the central-eastern area of the country since the evening of Tuesday, July 2, 2024, several planes had a longer route to the “Henri Coandă” airport (Otopeni). Also, some waited in the air for about 10-15 minutes, and for these reasons most of the departures from Bucharest this evening have delays. However, no aircraft have so far been diverted to land at another airport in the region and, barring delays, air traffic is operating under near-normal conditions,” BoardingPass’ post this evening said.
