CCR admits notification from President Klaus Iohannis on the amendments to local public administration law
The Constitutional Court of Romania has admitted on Wednesday the notification submitted by President Klaus Iohannis on the amendments to the Local Public Administration Law.
“We have admitted the petition, considering that the Prefect has no powers to replace the decision of the competent local authority to validate its structure,” said the Constitutional Court Chairman, Valer Dorneanu, at the end of the plenary session.
On January 11, President Klaus Iohannis appealed to the CCR the normative act for amending and completing the Local Public Administration Law no. 215/2001, which establishes a new procedure regarding the validation, after the establishment of the local council, of the local councillor mandates.
