The National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) prosecutors have decided on Tuesday to drop the charges against Dinu Pescariu and three other suspects in the file on the ‘Cutezatorii’ sports facility because there is no evidence in terms of criminal responsibility. In the same file, Mihnea Costoiu had been sued for abuse of office.
“In regard to the suspects Păunică Mihai, Ispas Gabriel Liviu and Leahu Gabriel it has been decided the solution of dropping the charges, given that the forensic expertise report in question determined that the signatures on the additional act to the lease were not executed by them. Also, the same solution was decided regarding the defendant Pescariu Dinu Mihail because there is no evidence to attract his criminal responsibility beyond reasonable doubt,” DNA informs in a press release posted on the institution’s website.
In the same file, the DNA prosecutors will prosecute, for abuse of office, under judicial control, Mihnea Costoiu, at the date of deeds State Secretary with the Ministry of National Education, charged with damages amounting to over EUR 10 million.
The prosecutors have seized several buildings belonging to Mihnea Costoiu.
The file is to be re-judged by the High Court for Cassation and Justice (ICCJ – Supreme Court).
