Children’s Cancer Hospital, Built Solely on Donations by Daruieste Viata, Successfully Completed
The “Daruieste Viata” Association announced on November 24, that it has completed the first building of the Children’s Hospital constructed entirely from donations and sponsorships, where some of the sections of the Marie Curie Hospital will be relocated.
The first hospital in Romania, entirely built from donations and sponsorships in the courtyard of the Marie Curie Children’s Hospital in Bucharest, is ready to receive its first patients, less than 5 and a half years from the start of construction.
The hospital was erected from the donations of 350,000 Romanians and sponsorships from 8,000 companies and will be the first dedicated hospital for children with cancer in Romania. The largest sponsorship came from Petrom company – 10 million euros offered for equipping the hospital.
The hospital has 9 levels and will include departments for oncology, radiotherapy, surgery, and neurosurgery, as well as a cinema and a playground for children.
