Code yellow alert for cold, rains, wind and snowfalls this weekend

Meteorologists have issued two yellow code alerts to be in force countrywide this weekend. Rains will gradually turn into snowfalls, while the wind will be stronger.

The first warning will come into force as of tomorrow, 14:00hr through Sunday morning. Falls will prevail in western and northwestern country at the beginning, then they will extend to central and northeastern regions.

It will snow in northern Moldavia and Eastern Carpathians, with water quantities exceeding 25l/sqm and sometimes even 40-50l/sqm. The wind will blow with more than 55kmph in the west and at night in the southeast.

The second code yellow alert is valid on Sunday in the southern, central and eastern country. It will first snow in Moldavia, than rains will turn into sleet and snowfalls in Muntenia and most part of Transylvania.

Rains will prevail in Oltenia and Dobruja.

Temperatures will rapidly climb down, with the lowest temperatures to be registered in the northern half of Moldavia (maximum 4C).

The wind gusts will reach 55-65kmph, and 70kmph in the mountains.
