The National Meteorology Administration (ANM) has issued on Thursday a Code Yellow warning for snowfall in seven counties in Moldavia – Buzau, Vrancea, Galati, Vaslui, Bacau, Neamt and Iasi, in force as of Thursday evening at 22.00h until Friday at 12.00h.

Meteorologists warn that during the night of Thursday to Friday and Friday morning the snowfall will lead to a new layer of snow with wind gusts of 60-65 km per hour, low visibility and blizzard.

On the other hand, as of Thursday afternoon, the precipitations will extend to the south-west to the south, east and central Romania. In Oltenia, most of Muntenia and Moldavia snowfall will be registered, with a new layer of snow. In Dobrogea and eastern Muntenia mixed precipitations will fall, favouring glazed frost.

Temporary wind gusts will be felt in the eastern part of the country, in the mountainous areas, with speeds of 50-60 km/h turning to blizzard. Friday morning the wind will intensify in southern Oltenia and in Dobrogea.
