The National Meteorology Administration (ANM) has issued on Wednesday a Code Yellow warning for 13 counties in southern, north-western and central Romania.
The counties of Maramureş, Satu-Mare, Sălaj, Cluj, Bistriţa-Năsăud, Mureş, Vâlcea, Argeş, Dâmboviţa, Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu and locally in Harghita will face high atmospheric instability with torrential rain, electric discharges, hail and storms. Under the Code Yellow the water quantities will reach 25 litres per square metre and on isolated areas 40-50 litres per square metre.
The weather forecast warning comes into force at 14.00h and will last until 22.00h on Wednesday.
Another warning, concerning most of the country, has come into force since 11.00h. The warning is in force until Saturday morning at 10.00h, and concerns rainfalls, electric discharges, wind gusts and hail on isolated areas. The water quantities will exceed during short intervals or by accumulations 15-25 l/sq m and 35 l/sq m on isolated areas.
