The National Meteorology Administration (ANM) has issued on Sunday a new Code Yellow for atmospheric instability, in force until 22.00h, for three quarters of the country.
Most of the mountainous regions and Transylvania, northern Oltenia, most Muntenia, southern Moldavia, western Dobrogea and Crisana, Banat Maramures will face atmospheric instability with torrential rain, electric discharges, wind gusts, storms and hailstorms.
Water quantities will exceed 20-25 litres per square metre and 40-50 l/sqm on isolated areas.
ANM has also issued a weather warning for thermal discomfort and atmospheric instability during the same interval, with scorching heat in western and southern regions, with the temperature-humidity index expected to exceed the 80 units threshold in the plains.
A second Code Yellow warns that, as of Sunday at 22.00h until Monday at 12.00h, atmospheric instability will be high, with torrential rain, electric discharges, storms and hailstorm in Banat, Crisana, Maramures and north-western Transylvania. Water quantities will exceed 25 l/sqm and 4-60 l/sqm on isolated areas.
